John Allen, a well-known authority on magic mushrooms, was on a trip to Cambodia when he discovered Cambodian spores in Siem Reap, Kampuchea. The location is near the Angkor Wat temple, one of the largest religious monuments in the world. Allen took a sample back with him to the United States and began to cultivate it.
